Let it be

I guess I'll start uploading photographs from my 365 that I really enjoyed taking during 2010.  Enjoy!
This is the first photograph from my Nikon D3000!

Coco Before Chanel

Coco Before Chanel.

Needless to say I have to see this movie.  It includes one of my favorite actresses, Audrey Tautou.  It seems like an inspiring movie!

Let Us Reevaluate

Sometimes reevaluation is a good thing.  Looking back on what was wrong, what was right.
For right now, I'm done with my Philosophy of Race/Class/Gender paper and I only have one final exam next week on Thursday.  Everyone's jealous, but I worked really hard this semester for the grades I wanted.

The Winning Bid!

I found another typewriter that I love more and for a way better price.  Then today I found this adorable dress on UO.  I am super excited to receive it in the mail!  Even though it's more of a summer dress, the environment in FL is so bipolar I'm sure that I'll be able to wear it sooner or later.

Should I buy this typewriter?

Okay, so, I've been looking for a type writer recently and stumbled upon this extremely cute 1960s typewriter.  The owner is asking for $100 and I was thinking if that's a good price.  I think it is, and I haven't really been finding many typewriters around.  I think this may be the one...

Stayin' Classy in the Oxfords

So, today I decided that it was time I buy a pair of these Oxford flats.  I think they are super cute and will go lovely with my wardrobe.  I got them off UrbanOutfitters.com with a promotion code of WALKTHISWAY for a 20% off!  It was completely worth it because it basically eliminated the shipping fee.  What a great concept.
Other than that, I've been pretty productive with writing my Philosophy of Arts paper about Schelling and HIS philosophy of art.  It's a tad confusing, but all at the same time makes perfect sense.
It's getting a bit chilly outside, too, lately.  We're going to get in the 30's°F by Friday and I somehow don't feel prepared enough, BUT I will try!

Anxiety!

I cannot wait for my heart cutout dress to come in the mail!  I'll hopefully get it this week along with a ModCloth dress and necklace.  I'll make sure to take pictures of them once I get everything!

I'm not going back

Bright Star

I believe that my Philosophy of Race/Class/Gender class should be a requirement for all undergraduates.  I think it gives students a wonderful knowledge of oppression and privilege.  A big section that I am most interested in is heterosexism.  I love learning about WHY people are homophobic and finding a solution to it.
My mind has been constantly changing with this class.  I am learning so much that I feel is so very vitally important for everyone else to experience and know as well.  If we educate people, maybe we wouldn't have all this ignorance and name calling.
On another note, I received an "A" on my Philosophy of Arts test!  I was so excited to see that "A" too!  My T.A. is super cool.  I got him to check my paper before I turned it in, fixed my errors, and received my "A."  And it feels great.
I also would love to see the movie "Bright Star" in the near future.  Just as a heads up!  A story full of John Keats and his lover Fanny?  Yeah, you know you can count me in any Romanticism-era film.

Because I want to see people and I want to see light

Currently: - Researching a topic for my Philosophy of Race/Class/Gender.  Thinking about doing a topic on the recent suicides of gays.
- Listening to The Smiths

Amelie is a wonderful movie!  I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Take steps in my direction

I have noticed lately that a lot of people that dress well are frowned upon by others.  Why?  I think these people look stunning.  And for the people that are frowning upon the people, please stop.  Let people have the freedom to dress anyway they want.  Sorry, if I find exercise shorts and a tank top boring.
Besides that, I think I aced my Philosophy of Arts test which is extremely exciting!

The xx

I feel as if some songs now-a-days do not really have a beginning, climax, and an ending.  They're more like one big climax at the beginning to get your attention and then bore you throughout because it is the same thing over and over repeated.
Others, such as by The xx or Florence + The Machine kind of have a beginning to their songs that build up so strong to a climax that gets you going and struck to their will.  Then at the very end it leaves you speechless and in a zone where you feel invincible.  I strongly recommend these bands by the way!

(500) Days of Summer Soundtrack

I really believe the (500) Days of Summer Soundtrack is quite phenomenal.  Just as I was bringing in my lunch to my dorm I heard the guy behind the main desk playing "She's Got You High" by Mumm-ra.
You should give it a listen sometime!  It also collaborates The Smiths, The Temper Trap, and the Pixies.  How could you go wrong?

Philosophy of Arts

The feeling of fall--
So far, it has been pretty rainy today.  I am longing for fall weather!  Besides this, I have been working on my Philosophy of Arts essay: Discuss Plato's understanding of Eros, or Love.  So far, it has been going well.
I'll try to make this blog full of pretty pictures and things I come across.  But for right now, I'm just trying to finish my paper!  I wanted to go to the library but it's quite dreary out.  Until tomorrow!
